HV and LV Electrical Engineering & Design

With ever-increasing power demands and ageing energy infrastructures, ensuring safe HV and LV distribution systems is vital. However, designing robust and modern solutions comes with various roadblocks, such as budget constraints and evolving environmental regulations. EPS’s HV and LV services include fault protection and system calculations, grading, analysis, and report presentation to both senior network operators and specialist HV personnel. Our team of experienced power system consultants has extensive expertise conducting site surveys, power system analysis, and detailed design of HV and LV projects.

Our Approach

EPS staff have the ability to review, calculate and design HV and LV circuit protection, conductor & switchgear ratings, selection and standards, lighting fittings, power distribution equipment, cables & containment systems for HV and LV projects, using proprietary software systems. We utilise calculations to established industry standards and models and produce electrical method statements and risk assessments for all of our electrical work activities.

We routinely prepare full detailed high-voltage and low-voltage electrical and distribution system infrastructure design to tender documentation including electrical building and site layout plans, schematics, schedules and specifications that are tailored to suit specific client requirements.

Front End Engineering and Design

This conceptual design stage consists of conducting initial feasibility studies which address factors like analysing the current electrical capacity, the adaptability of existing equipment to accommodate increased loads, outlining preliminary equipment specifications, determining cable needs, and estimating rough order of magnitude (ROM) costs.
